We often find that those who need help the most are the very ones who can afford it the least, and that's why we do not charge a monthly fee for those who come to Teen Challenge of Arkansas.
Teen Challenge utilizes a grassroots approach that encourages the local centers to tailor programs to the needs of their area. A majority of the funds are raised by the local centers from individuals, churches, businesses, and organizations in their local area. The centers operate with full and part-time staff members. Each year thousands of volunteers, largely from churches, contribute valuable time and skills, making it possible for Teen Challenge centers to operate with low overhead. Approximately 85% of funds go directly into recovery and/or prevention programs.
Teen Challenge of Arkansas operates as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with its own board of directors. A financial audit or review is required by Teen Challenge International USA to encourage sound financial practices.
Since 1969, Teen Challenge of Arkansas has been meeting the monthly needs of the program and it's students because of every caring individual, church, civic organization, foundation and business who believes in what we do and we are greatly appretiative of them all.
Our necessities come in many forms: food, school supplies, automobiles, tools, etc. All of these things, as well as finances, go into the daily make up of running this program.
