Let me introduce - or reintroduce - myself and a program that is not only dear to my heart, but is in the heart of Hot Springs. I am Tim Culbreth, Executive Director of Teen Challenge of Arkansas. I have held this position since 1981.
And we are Teen Challenge of Arkansas! Many of you receiving this already know the program, or know of the program. For some of you, this is a first meeting. Teen Challenge began in the United States 52 years ago with a vision - a vision to see young gang members and addicts safe, saved, and set free from the tyranny of their environments. As teenager after teenager came to the program searching for something better, they found freedom! These changes were so remarkable, that people took hold of this vision for th
eir own communities. In 1969, this vision led Troy Collier to begin the Teen Challenge of Arkansas center in Little Rock. In 1981 the program was moved to Hot Springs. Since then, it has grown to become one of the largest Induction Centers in the United States.
I want you to know that we have a sobering understanding of the impact that addiction has on communities, and as we offer help to addicted men, we take that position seriously in this community.
I encourage you to make a connection, to partner with us as we continue to offer help to broken people who have need of Teen Challenge of Arkansas.
