S.A.I.L.S PLay Day
Teen Challenge students arrived early at Lake Degray for a of fun, sun and service for Hot Springs annual S.A.I.L.S Play Day.Every year local Independent Living Centers bring handicapped people out to Lake Degray for fresh air and relaxation. Teen Challenge students and other volunteers are on hand to do face painting, cook and serve lunch, take willing riders out on jet skis, boats and a tube ride.
Out of all of the community service hours that we put in, this is hands down our favorite. Students get a day out, and learn to live it up drug and alcohol free. They have the opportunity to have others in need to lean on them, depend on them for a good time and a safe day.
This is an event that we are definitely blessed to participate in and we are grateful for the invite. We are also grateful for the heartfelt blessings that we receive as we hold out a helping hand to others, just as others have held a helping hand out to us!
